Us

In May 2012, we left our lives in California to pursuit our dream of traveling the world and creating a business that gives back. Check out the videos below to learn about each chapter of our adventure so far. We hope to inspire you to get out of your own box and live the life you dream because if we did it, then you can too.

  1. I like the antique rendition of your film of Nicaragua. How long do you hope to work In Nicaragua? My husband of 37 years and I started out our marriage by going to Japan for a year. It has been a foundation for a great relationship. Now, with children grown up and a lifetime of experiences behind us, we have returned to a country we love, Japan. Thank you for checking into my blog.

    • Thank you @mbfitzmahan! We’re not sure how long we’ll be here as of right now, but we’ll be here as long as we have to in order to get our business up and running online. Japan sounds amazing, it’s definitely one of the top places we want to experience soon. Wonderful to hear that you ended up back where your love started πŸ™‚ Will be keeping up with you through your blog! Thanks for reaching out.

I think what you’re doing is so AMAZINGLY gutsy and so incredibly worthwhile. So many people make excuses for why they don’t move overseas or why they don’t help people more or why they don’t just quit there stoopid, boring job… but you guys! You guys have just gone out and grabbed life!
    LOVE IT!
    Stay safe,

  5. Kudos to you two for deciding to life out of the box and then doing it; most people do not follow through. The concept of sell one, donate one is cool.
Since you are into education, you may wish to link up with Applied Scholastics International, a non-profit that delivers a workable study approach, which is used all over the world and helps students learn and be able to apply what they learn faster. Though I am a full-time author these days, I did a seminar for them in mainland China and have friends who have done similarly for ASI in other countries.

  14. I just watched your videos and it’s inspiring to see the great differences both of you are making. Nicaragua looks beautiful and it’s green everywhere! Thank you for liking my blog, I look forward to reading your new posts.

  15. Hi Jon and Quinn, thanks for stopping by my blog! Really admire the courage you both have and the dream you are building! It takes a lot of guts and hey, if I were 25 years old again, I’d be doing something completely different since I think it’s absolutely CRAZY that you’ve given up the comforts of home!! But I guess someone’s gotta do this sh*t. There’s an excellent rum that comes out of Nicaragua called Flor de Cana and if you haven’t already tried it, you should. It’s really smooth and goes great with any juice. Try it with cucumber, pineapple and sugar. What can I say? I’m a foodie! But in all seriousness, you both take care of each other and I only wish you the best in your endeavors!

  16. Thanks so much for visiting my blog and liking “Happy Thanksgiving”. I can’t wait to learn more about your work and what you are doing. Robyn

      • I’m glad you like it, it’s what I live by. It took a while for me to get it but I’ve finally realized success doesn’t have a monetary, nor does it require notoriety; some of the most successful people in life have gone unnoticed by the masses and never had two pennies to rub together! πŸ˜€

Be blessed and keep living life out of the box!

  18. Really great concept. I admire the courage it took to get up and move out. I like the videos you put here to tell your story. I especially liked Part I … the pizza box with your “life out of the box” title written on it. That was really cool. Hoping this adventure brings you the best of life. Congrats!

    • I’m glad you caught that quick clip. While on the plane I was brainstorming on our logo and only had a pizza box to write on. We try to throw in sneaky clips like that in our videos. Thanks for paying attention to the details. We are very impressed you noticed it.

  19. Hats off to two of you for such a wonderful work and for following your passion. You guys are doing some great work.

    • Thanks for calling us gutsy and talented. That’s very very nice of you. Your comment helped me realize how crazy our life really is. But all we are trying to do is go after our dream. Is that really crazy? I guess so. Thanks again.

  22. I was just thinking that I was jealous of your lives but then I realized mine is pretty awesome too! Nice to see others living with passion! Change the world and best of luck!
