The Barrio Planta Project (BPP) is an educational NGO in San Juan del Sur created to empower low-income children living in Nicaragua. They teach the kids English, dance and other creative arts to give the students exposure to enriching cultural activities. The BPP believes that through the creative arts and education students will find their voice locally, nationally and ultimately globally—and we couldn’t agree more. It’s an amazing project doing amazing things for these kids and we are honored to have been able to give school supplies to each of their wonderful kids.
We have seen first hand the huge impact this after-school program is making on the kids who attend and it was so inspiring for us to see. The teachers are from all over the world, passionate, young, intelligent and fun–the perfect combination of a teacher and it shows in the children. If you’re ever in San Juan del Sur, you should check out the wonderful program across from the beach and see for yourself the beautiful things they are doing for the children of Nicaragua. It will inspire you, make you smile and give you confidence for the future generation of this country. It’s a great place filled with great people and great kids.
Below is a video that captures the giving & receiving of school supplies, as well as fun and all of the smiles that everyone had during the two days we were at BPP.
