The Peace Project is an after-school program in Nicaragua for the kids that live around Laguna de Apoyo. This is a place where children can do their homework, learn English, learn how to type and have fun with their friends in a safe environment.
The Peace Project works with the youth of Laguna de Apoyo in order to achieve its mission of:
1. Providing English language instruction and reinforcing the local educational efforts to expand future job opportunities.
2. Creating a culture of peaceful conflict resolution and positive communication.
3. Developing a greater awareness and open-mindedness of new ideas and cultures.
Here, we gave each of the kids in the after school program a school supplies set of their own thanks to our LOOTB customers. We saw first hand how big of a positive impact the project has on the kids who attend after school. To see our experience while giving to The Peace Project, check out the video we made below.
