Tomorrow evening (May 27th at 7pm EST) the beginning of our story when we moved to San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua to start Life Out of the Box will be shared, once again, on HGTV’s House Hunters International. We’ve come along way since we left everything behind in California to pursue our dreams of traveling the world and creating a business that gives back. We had a great time filming our episode when we lived in Nicaragua and are grateful for this opportunity to share our story on TV with all of you and everyone else across the US and Canada.
To get a more in depth view of our beginnings before you watch the episode, check out the video we made, before we filmed our House Hunters International episode, of us moving from California to San Juan del Sur for the very first time below.
If you can’t view the video in your email, click here.
We have several other videos about all of the crazy things that we experienced after we found our first place like The Critters of Nicaragua, The Beach of San Juan del Sur, A Cultural Celebration, The Rodeo of Nicaragua and our awesome experience of working with the San Juan del Sur Library for the first time. To see all of our videos from the beginning until now, check out our YouTube channel + subscribe!
So set your DVR to record or tune in tomorrow evening at 7pm EST (4pm Cali time) to our episode on HGTV’s House Hunters International. To find out the exact time/channel it’s on where you are, check out our episode’s profile on HGTV’s site: Socially Conscious in San Juan del Sur. Thanks for your support everyone, we’re excited to share our beginnings with you all!

Here are some more behind the scenes photos of us having a great time filming with our awesome crew in San Juan del Sur, enjoy!
Love it! I spent last June and July in Nicaragua so I’ve actually been there. It’s kinda fun to flip though your photos and see the beach I got to visit while I was there. Love what you guys are doing.
Thanks so much Kathryn, Nicaragua is such a special place. We’re glad to hear that you’ve experienced it for yourself!
Love that show—so great to see what goes on behind the scenes. Congrats!
Thank you so much Gabrielle! Glad you enjoyed the behind the scenes photos 🙂
HH Int’l is one of my fave shows and I can’t wait to watch you both go thru the house hunting machinations again. Love following your travels via your blog. Thanks for all your hard work and dedication 8>)
Thanks for watching, following along on the blog and supporting what we do Glenda! It really means a lot to us both.
Wow! How awesome is that? I’ll try to catch the episode. We lived in Costa Rica for 8 mos until family circumstances called us back. We hope to return before the year is over. Much luck to you!
Thank you Cheryl, we hope you got to watch it! Costa Rica is such a beautiful place, how fun that you got to live there for 8 months. Hope you all get to go back there soon!
It looks I got to the party a little late and missed your House Hunters Episode. I watch the show often, so maybe I can catch it if they air it again soon. Cheers!
You can still watch it! It’s on this weekend on Saturday (tomorrow) at 7pm EST. Hope you can still tune in 🙂
Thanks for the time…I’m gonna try : )
You have no idea how much of an inspiration you both are to me. You’re living the life I wish I could live. Doing exactly what I write and dream about in my own mind. Things I wish I had the courage and knowledge to do…. I still have no idea how you pulled it off but it’s amazing to see!! Love and light
You have the courage and knowledge within you to do anything in this world that you want! Just go after it and do it. That’s all it takes 🙂
Your so right! I just need to take the leap! I like the way the landing looks from your perspective! Will do what I can to help 🙂
Love&Light
Thanks for letting us know when you will be airing again. We look forward to seeing it!
Oh, and the behind the scenes pics are Cool!
Thanks so much, glad you like the behind the scenes photos!! 🙂
Watching right now. So cool to follow your dream! Thank you for sharing your story. Wishing you success in your ventures.
Thanks so much for watching Jill and for your support in what we’re doing. We hope you follow along with us as we continue to develop!
I hope you make it to Matagalpa, Nicaragua, and the Eco-Lodge of Selva Negra. It is a hidden paradise and it was our favorite place to visit in all of Central America. And, of course, their coffee is the BEST! 🙂 Best of luck in all of your travel adventures! – Mike
Yum coffee. We will be sure to let you know if we make it out there. It sounds truly incredible. 🙂
Once I visited your website, I immediately remembered seeing your story on House Hunters International. How cool!
